Meet Your Teacher Mr. AJ Custard, Esq.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that yoga is a practice of liberation—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Through a vinyasa-style flow that connects breath, movement, and intention, I guide students to explore their own rhythm and rediscover the balance that already lives within them.

I aim to create a space where working professionals can release the pressures of daily life and reconnect to their inner calm, and where communities of color and diverse body types feel welcomed, represented, and empowered.

As a Black man and Attorney, I show up as a possibility model, demonstrating that wellness belongs to all of us, and that finding our flow on the mat helps us move more confidently and authentically through the world.

  • To guide working professionals, especially black people and other communities of color, through a vinyasa-based practice that reconnects the body, mind, and soul. My mission is to help people discover their own rhythm, inner balance, and personal flow so they can move through life’s chaos with clarity, confidence, and grounded strength. Find Your Flow, Move Your Life.

  • To expand access to yoga within communities of color and professional spaces, fostering a culture where wellness is normalized, valued, and inclusive.

My vision is to empower individuals to discover their inner equilibrium, so they can move through their personal and professional lives with intention, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves.

  • 1. Accessibility
Yoga belongs to every body. I'm a Big Black Boy. So I'm uniquely qualified in honoring different body types, backgrounds, and lived experiences, ensuring a practice where people feel welcomed, seen, and supported.

    2. Representation
As a Black man and an Attorney, I strive to be a possibility model, showing that wellness, mindfulness, and yoga are spaces where we not only belong, but can lead.

    3. Balance
Cultivating harmony between effort and ease in both practice and life. When we find inner balance, we navigate the world’s demands with more grace and resilience.

    4. Authentic Flow
Encouraging each student to find their own vibe, rhythm, and movement—not perfection, but presence.

    5. Mind–Body–Soul Connection
Honoring yoga as a holistic practice that strengthens the body, calms the mind, and nourishes the spirit.
